Data Collection and Retention Policy
Friends of Felines collects and processed personal identifiers, such as name and contact details, from both emails (if applicable) and the various forms available on the site.
Excluding exceptional circumstances, such data is retained as follows.
Data obtained from general enquiry forms, emails or similar communications.
Details collected from the website's general contact form(s) are automatically held for 15 days on the server as a backup, in case a mail server issue causes your message not to be sent or received correctly. Personally identifiable data is removed from our systems as soon as is practicable after being determined as no longer necessary for successfully concluding the enquiry.
Data obtained from fostering or adoption related forms, emails or similar communications.
Details collected from the website's adoption form(s) are automatically held for 15 days on the server as a backup, in case a mail server issue causes your message not to be sent or received correctly.
If you have expressed an interest in fostering, or your become one of our foster team, we will retain your details until you let us know that you are no longer interested, and have surrendered any related animals to us. After this we will remove your details from our systems as soon as is reasonably practicable.
If you have expressed an interest in adoption, we will retain your details until you are successful (see below), let us know that you are no longer interested in adopting, or are unfortunately unable to pass our home-check. After this we will remove your details from our systems as soon as is reasonably practicable.
After the successful adoption of a cat, we reserve the right to retain your contact details for a minimum of 8 weeks. This is to ensure sufficient time for the cat's details to be updated on an appropriate Microchip service, and to aid reuniting a missing cat with their family should they be found by a third party. If you would like your details to be removed from our systems after this period, please let us know at any time.
The Web Server
Like just about every webserver on the planet, this one does store very basic, generalised, non-personalised statistical information about our visitors, such as browser type, operating system, country of origin, length of time on site etc. We only use this general information to help tailor the site to our visitors as browsing habits change and technology advances.
The site sets only the most basic cookies possible to allow the site to function. You are welcome to disable cookies if you wish, but you might find that the site doesn’t work properly afterwards.
We don't set tracking cookies, and we don't pass information to third parties.
